The Grimoire
Together with the Literary Witch, you will reconnect to your creative intuition and build a writing practice that deepens your craft, sharpens your ideas, and helps you finish your book. Regular meetings and developmental feedback on your writing will provide support as you focus on the three alchemical elements of writing a book: mindset, practice, and craft.
Monthly meetings will integrate intuition and strategy, troubleshooting, and writing feedback. We will run experiments to build a writing practice that works for your unique brain and explore creative rituals to connect with the energy of your book.
During meetings and through feedback on your draft, we will clear the path to expressing your ideas and hone all the creative tools at your disposal to enhance your writing. That might look like deep strategic work alongside pulling tarot or oracle cards for reflection (and so much more).
The in-depth support in The Grimoire is designed to help you reclaim and center your creative power so you can devote yourself to finishing the book you were always meant to write.
How does it work?
6 months of live coaching calls
- We meet for two hours each month, blending intuitive rituals with the practical magic of structure and strategy
- Commune with the Literary Witch via email and voice messages throughout the month for questions and check-ins between meetings
- Get detailed feedback on your writing—up to 25 pages per month—so your writing and ideas continue to evolve
- We will collaborate on a practical and magical approach to writing that works for your unique life, bodymind, and writing goals
- The Literary Witch will craft and send you a customized supply box with everything you need to set up an altar for your book and infuse your writing practice with magic
- During our 6 months together, you have free access to The Coven, a monthly writing ceremony and group coaching circle ($150 value)

I describe what I do as energy work for books and writers. I can feel where a book’s energy has gotten stuck and where a writing process has stalled out. I can find what’s blocking your creativity and together, we’ll clear it away so you can see the path ahead.
As a scholar of writing studies and an experienced coach, I bring extensive strategic knowledge about how to build a writing practice that works. As a witch, I will introduce you to ritual, ceremony, and intuitive tools to integrate magic into your creative work.
When you arrive at our coaching sessions, you can expect me to be fully present and prepared to help you overcome obstacles and make real progress. I’ll never uncap the dreaded red pen and tear your writing apart, but I’m not afraid to push you to do your best writing! One of my gifts is seeing the potential in every writing project. I’m here to show you how to turn that potential into reality.
I have three degrees in writing, including a BA in creative writing, and an MA and PhD in rhetoric and writing studies. I have designed and taught university writing courses, coached and judged writing competitions, written and published a book and peer-reviewed academic articles, ghostwritten several books, and completed a Poynter ACES Certificate in Editing.
I coach authors working on nonfiction books (thought leadership, business books, and memoir), academic and academic crossover texts, and novels. Writers I work with have gone on to land contracts with major and indie publishers and pursue self-publishing and hybrid publishing.
I read and write extensively on writing practices, creative development, magic and creativity, and the publishing process. I regularly attend industry conferences and trainings to provide the best support and advice to the authors I coach.
There is no guarantee that coaching will produce any specific level of success in your writing practices or provide a particular outcome, including publishing. I wish I had access to that specific type of magic!
Numerous factors contribute to your publishing results and, as with any class, training, or coaching relationship, your results are determined in part by how you apply the lessons, material, and feedback. When it comes to traditional publishing, luck is also a component!
I will not work on a book that is wholly or partially generated by AI. I do not take on coaching clients who are using tools like ChatGPT, Claude, etc. to produce writing.
I believe that storytelling is a uniquely human act. Using generative AI to output text strips the work of your voice, thoughts, and perspective. Content produced by generative AI is not eligible for copyright, which also presents a significant problem for thought leaders, academics, and all writers who care about ownership of their work.
Generative AI products are built on stolen creative labor (including mine!). Generative AI is environmentally destructive, produces endless amounts of slop and deliberately harmful content, and is linked to state surveillance and violence.
For these and many other reasons, I do not use generative AI in any capacity and will not provide coaching for people using generative AI to produce text. Read my full AI policy.
Magic and strategy play equally important roles in cultivating a creative practice that can sustain you through all the ups and downs of writing a book. Building an energetic relationship with your idea is as important as writing an outline or setting a schedule.
If there are specific practices you’d like to lean on (or avoid!), we will honor that preference in our work together. Intuitive work is not intended to supplant or stand in for therapy, self-care, or religious belief. There is no dogma here; only exploration.
The Grimoire is $2,000 per month for 6 months ($12,000 total). You can pay up front in full or in six monthly increments. Additional payment plans are available upon request.
